Job Requirements

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
  • Previous experience in an operational support role at a bakery, restaurant, or food service environment is a plus
  • Must have flexibility to work various shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be available Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm and Saturday 10am to 6pm
  • Must work days leading up to major holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to understand written and oral directions including recipes and operating procedures
  • Familiarity with basic units of measurement used in the US
  • Capability to perform repetitious tasks requiring precise and continuous movement of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers
  • Physical capacity to lift items up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Meticulous attention to exact measurements and timing under a fast-paced production schedule
  • Skill to evaluate products, processes, and surroundings to ensure compliance with standards
  • Discipline and attention to detail to strictly adhere to health and safety practices
  • Diligent, organized, self-motivated with ability to prioritize workload and work independently with minimal supervision

Job Duties

  • Follow NbC proprietary frosting recipe and application methods with precision
  • Utilize measuring instruments, commercial-grade or handheld mixer and pastry bag to frost cakes
  • Prioritize cake pre-orders according to schedule and frost cakes for walk-in guest orders accordingly
  • Ensure an adequate supply of samples and frosted cakes are available for guests in the bakery display case
  • Maintain appropriate frosting and frosted cake par levels
  • Adhere to the proper packaging, labeling, and storage of frosted cakes as well as product rotation standards
  • Maintain frosting and refrigeration logs
  • Monitor inventory of frosting supplies and notify management when replenishment is required
  • Evaluate baked and frosted cakes to ensure NbC standards are met and inform management of any quality control issues
  • Clean, sanitize and restock workstation
  • Wash any equipment in the absence of the dishwasher/utility employee
  • Comply with all health and safety guidelines and NbC policies and procedures including dress code and personal hygiene
  • Maintain consistent work attendance and punctuality record
