Job Requirements

  • Hotel event sales and catering experience required
  • Minimum 3-5 years of successful catering sales and event sales experience
  • Proven experience selling event space and catering services in a hotel or hospitality environment
  • Strong expertise in catering contracts, BEO creation, event detailing, menu planning, and post-event reconciliation
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate meetings, SMERF events, social events, weddings, and catered functions
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency with catering and event sales systems
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • A confident, proactive catering sales professional with a strong hunter mentality

Job Qualifications

  • Hotel event sales and catering experience required
  • Minimum 3-5 years of successful catering sales and event sales experience, preferably within a resort, convention hotel, or large-scale event venue
  • Proven experience selling event space and catering services in a hotel or hospitality environment
  • Strong expertise in catering contracts, BEO creation, event detailing, menu planning, and post-event reconciliation
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate meetings, SMERF events, social events, weddings, and catered functions
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and negotiation skills with a client-focused, revenue-driven mindset
  • Proficiency with catering and event sales systems such as Delphi, Opera, Salesforce, or similar platforms
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event and catering needs
  • A confident, proactive catering sales professional with a strong hunter mentality and passion for hospitality excellence

Job Duties

  • Lead and drive event sales and catering sales revenue, with a strong focus on meetings, conferences, social events, weddings, and catered functions
  • Proactively generate new business through lead generation, targeted prospecting, networking, cold calling, industry relationships, and community partnerships
  • Own the full event sales lifecycle, from lead generation, initial inquiry response, site tours, proposal development, catering menus, contract negotiation, event detailing, execution, and post-event follow-up
  • Meet or exceed established goals for catering revenue, event space rental revenue, and total event production
  • Create, review, and manage all Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to ensure accuracy, clarity, and flawless event execution
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for catering and event clients, delivering a high-touch, consultative event planning experience
  • Collaborate closely with Food & Beverage, Culinary, Operations, and Hotel Leadership to ensure seamless coordination and exceptional catering and event delivery
  • Maintain a visible on-site presence during events to oversee logistics, manage last-minute changes, and ensure client satisfaction
  • Track and analyze catering sales performance, monitor KPIs, and adjust sales strategies to consistently exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals
  • Represent the hotel at industry events, tradeshows, networking functions, and sales missions to drive catering and event demand
