Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior relevant hospitality experience
- excellent communication and organizational skills
- proficiency with computer reservation and sales systems preferred
- ability to multitask and work under pressure
- must be able to work some weekends and evenings
- physical ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift weights up to 25 pounds
- must maintain professional appearance and demeanor
- valid work authorization
- strong customer service orientation
Job Qualifications
- prior experience in hospitality sales, hotel front desk, catering, or events
- experience in hotel environment is a plus
- familiarity with reservation systems such as FOSSE or OnQ is a plus
- ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedural manuals
- strong report writing and correspondence skills
- effective oral communication skills
- mathematical ability to calculate figures such as discounts and commissions
- understanding of basic algebra and geometry concepts
- problem-solving skills with minimal standardization
- ability to follow written, oral, and scheduled instructions
- flexibility to work some weekends and evenings based on event schedules
Job Duties
- maintains and updates all active files and logs in sales database
- uncovers information from meeting planners to aid hotel staffing
- supports sales department with deliveries, shipments, and group equipment
- updates function books, calendars, or computer systems as group agendas finalize
- attends sales and property-specific meetings
- follows up with group blocks prior to cut-off dates
- answers incoming calls and manages customer requests
- provides phone, email, and office coverage
- blocks space and creates banquet event orders
- prepares group resumes, daily function reports, and BEO packets
- resolves issues and complaints to ensure client satisfaction
- ensures accurate billing and commission processing
- conducts hotel site tours as needed
- assists with group rooming lists and convention kit preparation
- types proposals, contracts, and BEOs timely
- informs sales managers and directors of messages when absent
- attends pre-conference meetings
- maintains professional relationships with team members and guests
- presents a professional image
- performs duties as requested by management
