Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience working in hospitality sales, hotel front desk, catering or events
- ability to work some weekends and evenings based on booked events
- ability to communicate effectively
- proficiency in computer systems and sales databases
- ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- ability to maintain a professional demeanor
- physical ability to perform job functions including sitting, standing, walking, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds
Job Qualifications
- prior experience in hospitality sales, hotel front desk, catering or events
- knowledge of hotel operations
- experience with reservation systems such as FOSSE or OnQ is a plus
- ability to read and interpret safety rules and operational instructions
- ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- strong verbal communication skills
- ability to calculate figures including discounts, commissions, and percentages
- basic algebra and geometry knowledge
- problem-solving skills
- ability to interpret various instructions
- ability to work some weekends and evenings based on booked events
Job Duties
- maintains and updates all active sales files
- logs room nights and food and beverage pick-up in the sales database
- uncovers detailed information from meeting planners to assist hotel outlets with staffing
- supports sales department with deliveries, shipments, and group equipment
- updates function calendars and notifies sales management of changes
- attends sales and property specific meetings
- follows up with group room blocks prior to cut-off dates
- answers incoming calls and directs requests
- provides phone, email, and office coverage
- blocks space and creates banquet event orders (BEOs)
- prepares group resumes, daily function reports, and BEO packets
- resolves client issues to ensure satisfaction
- ensures accurate billing and commission processing
- conducts hotel site tours and assists with sales visit preparations
- types proposals, contracts, and BEOs promptly
- maintains communication in absence of sales management
- attends pre-conference meetings
- maintains professional relationships with departments and guests
- presents a professional image to clients
- performs other duties as requested by sales management
