Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in food preparation or similar role preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to operate kitchen machinery and tools
  • Professional appearance and positive disposition
  • Ability to follow recipes and production standards accurately

Job Duties

  • Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards per check from servers
  • Start food items that are prepared ahead of time without over-preparing
  • Date all food containers and rotate per Crescent standards, ensuring proper temperature storage of perishables
  • Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line setup, and note out-of-stock items
  • Assist in keeping buffet stocked
  • Return unused food items to storage areas, covering and dating perishables
  • Assist in developing plans and actions to control food costs, minimize waste and losses per Crescent standards
  • Operate, maintain and clean kitchen equipment including deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat top grill
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
