Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in hotel front desk or night audit preferred
  • ability to communicate clearly in English
  • proficiency in computer operations and hotel management software
  • capability to lift or move up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds occasionally
  • availability to work overnight shifts
  • strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • adherence to company uniform and safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent English communication skills and ability to read write and speak fluently
  • proficiency in computer use and various software applications
  • knowledge of hotel accounting principles and night audit processes
  • strong customer service skills with experience in handling guest complaints and requests
  • familiarity with hotel reservation systems and cash handling procedures
  • ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • understanding of emergency and security procedures
  • physical capability to move luggage or packages weighing up to 40 pounds

Job Duties

  • Ensure all aspects of hotel accounting for all areas of hotel operations are processed correctly and accurately recorded protecting the brand and asset against liability and fraud
  • audit balance post and report on the front desk rooms and all food and beverage outlets cash and credit operations and reset all registers to ensure accurate timely function and optimal operations management
  • provide rooms management with a clear picture of their performance using the data gathered
  • run the night audit final after ensuring all revenue is in balance
  • attend to guest needs at the front desk
  • provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times
  • promptly and effectively deal with guest complaints and requests
  • check guests in and out efficiently and in a friendly manner
  • post guest charges and compute guest bill collect payment and make change for hotel guests following all cash handling procedures
  • handle guest mail and messages per established procedures
  • develop a thorough knowledge of hotel staff room locations room rates amenities and selling strategies
  • take reservation requests efficiently
  • answer switchboard in accordance with standards of proper telephone etiquette
  • block rooms and handle special requests
  • monitor room availability
  • handle safe deposits by guests per established procedures
  • keep lobby and desk area clean and presentable
  • have a thorough knowledge of emergency and security procedures
  • offer and properly handle requests for wake-up calls
  • clean lobby vending room breakfast room and back-office area
  • occasionally work on laundry during down times adhering to standards
  • open and close shift make cash drops
  • ensure all credit cards cash and change fund are balanced throughout each shift
  • inform management of any guest or systems related complaints or problems
  • communicate with incoming staff and management by logging pertinent information in the pass on log
  • keep maintenance informed of all maintenance needs
  • must wear proper uniform at all times in accordance with the standards of appearance
  • practice safety standards at all times
  • be able to move luggage or packages weighing up to 40 lbs
  • perform other duties as assigned by management of which employee is capable of performing
