Job Requirements

  • At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • or a 4-year college degree and at least 4 to 5 years of related experience
  • or a 2-year college degree and at least 5 to 6 years of related experience

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience in hotel management or related hospitality field
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to manage budgets and financial forecasting
  • Knowledge of hotel operations including sales marketing housekeeping and maintenance
  • Experience with staff training and development
  • Familiarity with corporate standard operating procedures and compliance
  • Customer focused with a commitment to guest satisfaction

Job Duties

  • Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts including calling on top ten accounts meeting clients hosting luncheons and receptions and meeting with on-site contacts on a daily weekly and monthly basis
  • Assist in creating a positive team-oriented environment focusing on the guest through employee development and motivation
  • Tour the operating departments daily making adjustments via department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings including weekly training sessions using PAH Management standards and review previous and future sales and operations efforts
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs timely
  • Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and PAH standard checkbook accounting procedures
  • Develop managers for future advancement through competency training and corporate sponsored programs
  • Maintain direct contact with and monitor development of management trainees
  • Ensure training-in-service standards are taking place in each department
  • Inspect rooms regularly with Housekeeping Manager and Property Engineer
  • Ensure complete processing of invoices daily using A/P process
  • Ensure all financial documents are received by Corporate Office monthly in compliance with the accounting calendar
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the property through inspections and preventive maintenance programs with department managers
  • Forecast the hotel’s monthly financial position by estimating revenues and expenses and analyze data to generate accurate reforecast
  • Prepare and conduct all management interviews and follow hiring procedures according to PAH SOPs
  • Interview all prospective final candidates for vacant management positions prior to offers
  • Motivate coach counsel and discipline management personnel according to PAH SOPs ensuring compliance
  • Ensure employees receive fair and equitable treatment per PAH SOPs
  • Meet clients on property including contacts and potential clients touring to assist sales efforts
  • Be in public areas during peak times greeting guests and helping
  • Ensure procedures for handling the hotel safe security and monthly audits are followed
  • Complete required corporate training modules and become certified to train others
  • Ensure all scheduled meetings take place on the property
