Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Degree in management preferred
  • 2-5 years experience in hospitality
  • Marriott experience 2+ years
  • Ability to work well under stressful situations and maintain composure
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to listen, understand, clarify, and resolve concerns from co-workers and guests
  • Ability to understand financial data and perform basic math
  • Must pass background check and drug screen
  • Able to stand for long periods
  • Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs

Job Duties

  • Oversee hiring, training, counseling, discipline, and discharge of hotel employees
  • Make daily deposits, excluding weekends which are deposited Monday
  • Review and approve all purchase orders and forward accounting information to Corporate weekly
  • Conduct monthly bank counts and submit reports to Corporate
  • Hold monthly department meetings to review hotel performance and address questions
  • Review weekly work schedules for all departments
  • Conduct public relations and sales calls, including weekly calls with Corporate Sales Representative, forwarding reports to Corporate
  • Oversee quarterly linen inventories and submit to Corporate by the 10th of the following month
  • Ensure all receivables are collected within 30 days and notify Corporate of overdue accounts
  • Maintain quality assurance inspections as per Valley Hospitality standards
  • Review daily audit packs and communicate queries to Accounting
  • Ensure all company standards and requirements are met
  • Oversee and manage guest and employee incidents
  • Maintain neat appearance in Business Casual attire
  • Attend required meetings and assist with tip reporting
  • Perform additional duties and training as assigned by Management
