Job Requirements

  • Educational background in hospitality or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5-6 years experience in hotel operations management
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Commitment to high standards of personal appearance
  • Availability to work long hours when necessary
  • Compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Physical ability to perform light work and occasional lifting
  • Attendance at required meetings and trainings
  • Maintain regular attendance per scheduling needs
  • Ability to participate in M.O.D. coverage as required

Job Qualifications

  • At least 5-6 years progressive experience in hotel management
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor
  • Effective listening and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with training and development of staff
  • Ability to conduct financial analysis and budget management
  • Proficient in guest service standards and employee motivation
  • Familiarity with hotel safety and security procedures
  • Knowledge of interview and hiring best practices
  • Ability to evaluate complex information and maintain confidentiality

Job Duties

  • Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts including calling on top clients and hosting events
  • Tour operating departments daily and make necessary adjustments with department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings and training sessions using Highgate standards
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate programs timely
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers and supervisors
  • Develop managers through competency training and corporate programs
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage as scheduled
  • Maintain contact and monitor management trainees
  • Oversee training compliance with service standards and Garden Standard of the Week
  • Foster a positive guest-focused team environment through employee development
  • Regularly inspect rooms with housekeeping and engineering managers
  • Ensure daily processing of invoices using A/P process
  • Comply with monthly accounting calendar submissions to corporate
  • Monitor property cleanliness and maintenance through inspections
  • Ensure employees provide attentive and courteous guest service at all times
  • Forecast and analyze monthly hotel financial position including revenues and expenses
  • Conduct management interviews and ensure hiring procedures compliance
  • Administer performance appraisals and enforce counseling and disciplinary actions
  • Meet clients on property to support sales efforts
  • Be present in public areas during peak times to greet guests
  • Manage hotel safe security and monthly audits
  • Lead monthly credit meetings and enforce credit and collection policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Vice President or Regional Director of Operations
