Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive hotel management experience
  • previous hotel management experience with proven success in leadership of teams and guest service results
  • financial acumen to work with and understand financial information and data
  • bachelor's degree or extensive relevant work experience
  • excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • effective listening skills
  • prior leadership over direct sales efforts producing at least 50 percent market mix of total revenues
  • valid driver's license from the appropriate state
  • exceptional time management and multitasking skills
  • strong customer focus
  • physically able to stand, sit, walk, bend, lift, and squat for extended periods
  • willing to travel occasionally

Job Duties

  • Lead the property in the generation of revenue through sales and marketing efforts
  • maintain strong knowledge of and relationships in the local market
  • manage relationships with hotel vendors and negotiate service agreements
  • review financial reports to understand the property performance and develop strategies to improve it
  • coach and support hotel team to manage occupancy, rates, wages, and controllable expenses
  • manage costs within the hotel including supplies, labor, utilities, food, and beverage expenses
  • ensure service, technical skills, and other training occurs throughout the property
  • establish collaborative relationships with team members and maintain an open-door policy
  • hire team members demonstrating expertise and leadership
  • observe service behaviors and provide feedback
  • review guest feedback and identify areas of improvement
  • analyze service issues and develop creative solutions
  • interface with customers regularly to obtain feedback
  • ensure property maintenance and safety
  • administer policies fairly and consistently
  • ensure property meets franchise standards
