Job Requirements

  • At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Effective verbal and written communication with all employees and guests
  • Strong listening, understanding, and concern clarification skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
  • Attendance at all required meetings and trainings
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required
  • Maintain regular attendance per company standards
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • Comply with company standards and regulations
  • Demonstrate problem anticipation, prevention, identification and resolution
  • Ability to analyze complex information and data
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and 10 pounds frequently

Job Qualifications

  • Progressively responsible experience in hotel management or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • Proven ability to lead and develop management teams
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of hotel operations and financial management
  • Experience with budget preparation and forecasting
  • Ability to train and motivate staff effectively
  • Familiarity with corporate policies and procedures
  • Competence in problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Commitment to maintaining high customer service standards
  • Proficiency in compliance and safety protocols

Job Duties

  • Participate in hotel sales efforts including client meetings and hosting events
  • Tour operating departments daily ensuring smooth operation and staffing
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings and training sessions
  • Hold weekly one-on-one meetings with operational department heads
  • Attend operational line ups at least once a week
  • Meet all financial review deadlines and corporate programs
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers
  • Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity and accounting standards
  • Develop managers through training and corporate programs
  • Participate in required M.O.D. coverage
  • Maintain and monitor effectiveness of the Lobby Ambassador program
  • Oversee management trainee development
  • Adhere to all Highgate policies and train new managers
  • Assist in budget and monthly forecast processes
  • Ensure service standards training in each department
  • Manage payroll procedures including overtime compliance
  • Ensure PCI compliance with vendors and partners
  • Foster a positive team environment focused on guest service
  • Inspect rooms regularly with housekeeping and engineering
  • Ensure timely processing of invoices and financial reporting
  • Monitor physical property cleanliness and maintenance
  • Ensure employee interaction is attentive and courteous
  • Forecast hotel financial positions monthly
  • Conduct operational management interviews and hiring compliance
  • Perform department manager performance appraisals
  • Motivate and discipline management staff per SOPs
  • Perform duties as requested by senior leadership
  • Ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees
  • Engage with clients on property to support sales
  • Provide guest assistance during peak times
  • Manage hotel safe security and audits
  • Conduct monthly credit meetings and manage credit policies
  • Complete required corporate training and certification
  • Ensure all scheduled meetings take place
  • Conduct daily WBR meetings with sales director
