Job Requirements

  • Full-time employment
  • At least 5-6 years progressive hotel experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous luxury hotel experience ideal
  • Ability to work long hours
  • Strong communication skills

  • Maintain personal grooming and attendance
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage

Job Qualifications

  • At least 5-6 years progressive experience in a hotel
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous experience in luxury hotel with heavy food and beverage focus ideal
  • Ability to work long hours when required
  • Maintain warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with employees and guests
  • Ability to listen, understand, and address concerns
  • Multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Attend all required hotel meetings and trainings
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage
  • Maintain regular attendance and comply with scheduling
  • High standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel standards for safe and efficient operations
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to evaluate complex data and information

Job Duties

  • Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts including calling on top accounts and meeting clients
  • Tour operating departments daily and make adjustments via department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings and training sessions according to Highgate Hotel standards
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs timely
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers
  • Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and accounting procedures
  • Develop managers through competency training and corporate programs
  • Participate in required M.O.D. coverage
  • Monitor management trainees development
  • Adhere to and train on Highgate Hotel policies and procedures
  • Oversee budget process as required
  • Ensure training in service standards in all departments
  • Assist in creating a positive team-oriented environment focusing on guest satisfaction
  • Inspect rooms regularly with housekeeping and engineering
  • Ensure processing of invoices daily
  • Submit financial documents to corporate office according to schedule
  • Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of property through inspections and preventive maintenance
  • Ensure employees are attentive, friendly, courteous, and efficient
  • Forecast monthly financial position and analyze data
  • Conduct management interviews and hiring per SOPs
  • Administer performance appraisals and compliance
  • Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline management staff per standards
  • Perform duties as requested by Vice President or Regional Director
  • Ensure fair and equitable employee treatment
  • Meet clients and assist in sales effort on-site
  • Engage with guests in public areas during peak times
  • Ensure security protocols for hotel safe and conduct audits
  • Conduct monthly credit meetings and manage credit policies
