Job Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of progressive hotel management experience
  • previous hotel management experience with proven leadership and guest service results
  • financial acumen to understand financial information
  • bachelor’s degree or extensive relevant work experience
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • effective listening skills
  • prior leadership of direct sales with at least 50 percent market mix of total revenues
  • valid driver’s license
  • exceptional time management and multitasking skills
  • customer focus to deliver employee and customer satisfaction
  • physically able to stand, sit, walk, bend, lift, and squat for extended periods
  • willing to travel occasionally

Job Duties

  • Lead the property in the generation of revenue through sales and marketing efforts
  • maintain strong knowledge of and relationships in the local market
  • manage relationships with hotel vendors and negotiate service agreements
  • review financial reports and statements to assess property performance and develop improvement strategies
  • coach and support hotel team to manage occupancy, rates, wages, and controllable expenses
  • manage costs within budget parameters including supplies, labor, utilities, food, and beverage
  • ensure service and technical skills training occurs throughout the property
  • establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with direct reports and team
  • actively solicit team member feedback and maintain an open door policy
  • hire team members with strong expertise, creativity, and leadership
  • observe service behaviors and provide feedback
  • review guest survey results and comment cards to identify improvement areas
  • analyze service issues and develop creative solutions
  • interface with customers to obtain feedback on service quality and satisfaction
  • ensure building maintenance and operational atmosphere meets or exceeds guest expectations
  • administer policies fairly and consistently and recognize team member performance
  • ensure property meets franchise standards and is safe and secure for guests and team members
