Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience in building maintenance
  • Flexible availability, 3-4 days per week, including weekends
  • Basic knowledge of refrigeration systems, electricity, HVAC and plumbing
  • Working knowledge of the English language in reading, writing and verbal communication
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods, bend, climb stairs and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work by yourself, lead yourself, make it count
  • Ability to work varied shifts, that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of experience in building maintenance
  • Previous experience as a hotel engineer preferred or comparable experience at an establishment such as apartment complex or office building
  • Basic knowledge of refrigeration systems, electricity, HVAC and plumbing
  • Certifications are a plus
  • Working knowledge of the English language in reading, writing and verbal communication
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods, bend, climb stairs and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work by yourself, lead yourself, make it count
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Uphold and role model the company’s principles of people, place and to ensure the experiences of translocal hospitality, intuitive service and collaboration
  • Maintain a good working relationship with other associates by promoting teamwork and fostering a harmonious working environment
  • Maintain all equipment, systems and building components including, but not limited to, mechanical and electrical systems, pumps, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, locks, furniture, paint, wall coverings, tile and other equipment
  • Handle routine maintenance, repairs and cleanliness in guest rooms, public spaces, event space, outlets, back of house spaces and grounds
  • Demonstrate familiarity with the hotel’s safety systems and take corrective action on any maintenance or operating problems which affect the security or operating condition of the hotel
  • Participate in the room preventative maintenance program
  • Use your skills and intuition to detect equipment malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair
  • Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment and furnishings as needed
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, standards
  • participate in all scheduled training classes and meetings
  • Transport heavy boxes and packages within the hotel for maintenance and repairs
  • Assist in delivery and setup of all new equipment such as televisions, mattresses, tables, chairs, etc.
  • Communicate with Chief Operating Engineer on projects as assigned
  • Respond to all guest requests in a timely and personable manner
