Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5-10 years of carpentry experience in hotels or cruise ships
- Ability to travel extensively including 70% travel to ship locations
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Must pass US Coast Guard regulated pre-employment drug test
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Commitment to following safety protocols
Job Qualifications
- 5-10 years of carpentry experience in hotels or cruise ships
- Ability to travel to and from vessels as required
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- US Coast Guard regulated pre-employment drug test
Job Duties
- Inspects public areas and stateroom hotel furniture, fixtures and equipment
- Installs wallpaper, tile, and carpet
- Repairs and installs wood trim and moldings
- Paints doors, walls, trim
- Installs artwork and TVs
- Performs general carpentry tasks
- Fixes or replaces broken fixtures and equipment
- Replaces light fixtures and fans
- Repairs furniture
- Resolves issues assigned from the Hotel Maintenance ticket system
- Accomplishes work duties independently with limited supervision
- Follows required safety protocols
- Works neatly and cleans workspace frequently
- Sends summary reports to Hotel Operations Manager
- Manages sub-contractors to ensure all work scheduled is completed and acceptable
- Performs inspections to ensure quality and assurance of work completed prior to ships returning to service
- Participates in weekly meetings with Hotel Operations Manager and Hotel General Managers
