Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5-10 years of carpentry experience in hotels or cruise ships
  • Ability to travel extensively including 70% travel to ship locations
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Must pass US Coast Guard regulated pre-employment drug test
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Commitment to following safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of carpentry experience in hotels or cruise ships
  • Ability to travel to and from vessels as required
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • US Coast Guard regulated pre-employment drug test

Job Duties

  • Inspects public areas and stateroom hotel furniture, fixtures and equipment
  • Installs wallpaper, tile, and carpet
  • Repairs and installs wood trim and moldings
  • Paints doors, walls, trim
  • Installs artwork and TVs
  • Performs general carpentry tasks
  • Fixes or replaces broken fixtures and equipment
  • Replaces light fixtures and fans
  • Repairs furniture
  • Resolves issues assigned from the Hotel Maintenance ticket system
  • Accomplishes work duties independently with limited supervision
  • Follows required safety protocols
  • Works neatly and cleans workspace frequently
  • Sends summary reports to Hotel Operations Manager
  • Manages sub-contractors to ensure all work scheduled is completed and acceptable
  • Performs inspections to ensure quality and assurance of work completed prior to ships returning to service
  • Participates in weekly meetings with Hotel Operations Manager and Hotel General Managers
