Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in maintenance or engineering
- ability to operate hand and power tools
- knowledge of plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems
- physical ability to perform manual tasks

Job Qualifications

- basic understanding of energy conservation principles
- familiarity with fire sprinkler and emergency power systems
Job Duties
- Report to work on time and in full uniform
- train and instruct other members of the staff through sharing of knowledge and skills
- operate as an independent mechanic by analyzing problems, identifying courses of action, and implementing solutions with available resources and to a high degree of quality
- keep accurate completion and task records in the project files
- set an example of continuous self-development
- plunge toilets, unclog drains, repair hardware, plumbing, and electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners and cosmetic items
- clean, lubricate, protect, and otherwise maintain all tools and equipment
- ensure all tools used are returned to proper storage area
- protect and maintain assigned tool pouch and tools
- monitor systems to be fully informed of system operation and handle emergencies
- have working knowledge of fire sprinkler and emergency power systems
- observe and analyze energy and utility usage, look for ways to conserve energy and report ideas
- be available for emergencies and act to protect guests, associates, building and systems
- return building to normal operating status and inform Engineering Management of emergencies
- work safely and create a safe work environment
- correct hazardous conditions promptly
- read, log, track, and interpret meter readings
- maintain a thorough log of daily activities and problems
- clean all engineering areas as directed
- work neatly and efficiently
- support hotel operation as directed by management
- complete work safely and professionally
- maintain communication with supervisors about materials, tools and supplies
- follow up on backorders
- provide training and technical advice to other engineers
- maintain knowledge of all relevant laws and codes
- maintain professional image
- uphold safe and efficient maintenance of hotel facility and equipment
- follow safety and security procedures
- learn and refer to Standard Operating Procedures
- follow rules in the M&R Employee Handbook
- perform other duties as assigned
