Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in mechanical or hotel maintenance roles
  • Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely
  • Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks including lifting and climbing
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including availability for emergencies
  • Adherence to safety rules and regulations
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in hotel maintenance or a related mechanical role preferred
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain detailed maintenance records
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures
  • Working knowledge of fire sprinkler and emergency power systems
  • Commitment to continuous learning and skill development

Job Duties

  • Report to work on time and in full uniform
  • Train and instruct other members of the staff through sharing of knowledge and skills
  • Operate as an independent mechanic by analyzing problems, identifying courses of action, and implementing solutions with available resources and to a high degree of quality
  • Keep accurate completion and task records in the project files
  • Plunge toilets, unclog drains, repair all types of hardware, plumbing, and electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners and cosmetic items
  • Clean, lubricate, protect, and maintain all tools and equipment in the hotel
  • Monitor systems as necessary to be fully informed of the system operation and to handle emergencies involving the systems
  • Have a working knowledge of fire sprinkler and emergency power systems
  • Look for ways to conserve energy and report any ideas to the Engineering Management
  • Act quickly and responsibly to return the building to its normal operating status in emergencies
  • Maintain a thorough log of each day’s activities and problems and pass this information on to other shifts
  • Clean all engineering areas as directed
  • Work in a neat and efficient manner
  • Follow all safety and security procedures and rules
  • Provide training and technical advice to other engineers as needed or requested
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable laws, codes, and regulations
  • Maintain the hotel facility and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management within the capability of the employee
