Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year of experience in building maintenance or related field
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move materials up to 100 lbs regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and work from ladders or scaffolding for the duration of shift
- Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to dust and hazardous materials
- Ability to follow safety regulations strictly
- Availability to work full-time with flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic proficiency in English for communication
- Valid certifications for trades are a plus but not mandatory
Job Qualifications
- Relevant certifications in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or building maintenance preferred
- Must have at least one year of experience in general facility or building maintenance, preferably in a large hotel or hospitality setting
- Experience in all maintenance trades, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, and painting
- Experience and safety knowledge using basic hand and power tools
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively communicate in English
- Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends, holidays, and varying hours
- Ability to work in diverse and sometimes challenging environments
Job Duties
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on hotel facilities, including guest rooms, common areas, and mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
- Troubleshoot and repair issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and HVAC systems
- Ensure proper operation of all hotel equipment, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, plumbing, pool equipment and HVACs
- Install, repair and maintain all types of wiring (electrical, data, communication, etc.), and lighting/intercom systems
- Perform diagnostics on electrical components and/or controls of machinery or other commercial equipment
- Respond with a sense of urgency to maintenance requests from guests and staff, ensuring timely resolution of issues
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and provide room status updates to minimize disruptions to hotel operations
- Adhere to safety standards and regulations, following lock-out/tag out and other safety measures to ensure a safe work environment for all employees and guests
- Perform other duties as assigned by the management
