Job Description

The Hotel Maintenance Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of hotel facilities. This position is responsible for the overall maintenance of the hotel and its grounds, maintaining both the structural integrity and the appearance of the property. The role primarily revolves around managing general and preventive maintenance functions which help in upholding the high standards of guest service and sustainability throughout the hotel building and surrounding areas. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in maintenance or engineering roles preferably in hospitality
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle physical workload including lifting heavy equipment
  • Flexibility to work variable hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willingness to participate in training and emergency drills

Job Duties

  • Manage general and preventative maintenance functions
  • Respond to guest maintenance requests
  • Inspect hotel regularly to ensure safety standards
  • Complete general repairs and upkeep of operational equipment
  • Oversee building systems including refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
  • Ensure safety and attractiveness of hotel areas
  • Perform grounds work and landscaping
  • Arrange preventative and routine maintenance of rooms, lobby and facilities
  • Organize repair projects to avoid disturbance of guests
  • Implement methods to reduce operating costs and conserve energy
  • Maintain expenses and activity logs
  • Order and maintain supplies
  • Maintain professional and personalized interactions with guests and employees
  • Ensure regular attendance and timeliness
  • Participate in daily briefings and meetings
  • Execute hotel emergency procedures
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure quality service
  • Provide feedback and assist in training processes
  • Perform physical tasks including prolonged standing, bending, stooping and kneeling
