Job Requirements

  • Ability to work with various equipment such as computers, telephones, two-way radios, TVs, and maintenance tools
  • Ability to work under varying temperature and noise conditions
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors
  • Ability to work around chemicals, fumes, dust, and other hazards
  • Physical capability to perform heavy work including lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally

  • Near vision ability to see details at close range
  • Oral and written comprehension and expression in English

Job Qualifications

  • Trade school or college coursework in a related field preferred
  • Previous customer service and hotel experience preferred
  • 1 to 2 years practical experience in technical trades such as HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, or electrical
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and wiring diagrams
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Familiarity with maintenance equipment and safety procedures

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner
  • Maintain regular attendance according to hotel scheduling needs
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • Comply with hotel policies and procedures to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Positively interact with hotel guests
  • Manage mechanical, guest room, public space, and preventive maintenance programs
  • Manage lights and grounds programs
  • Perform repairs to air conditioning units including filter changes, coil cleaning, and blower motor replacement
  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems including compressor replacement
  • Take equipment readings and water samples
  • Replace TV and cable boxes and program movie channel boxes
  • Replace light switches, receptacles, and light bulbs
  • Perform furniture repairs
  • Check and replace pumps
  • Adjust chemical pumps as needed
  • Perform plumbing repairs such as clearing clogged drains and changing washers and cartridges
  • Understand blueprints and wiring diagrams
  • Trace and repair drain and water lines
  • Repair kitchen equipment
  • Maintain repair records
  • Handle dangerous chemicals safely
  • Manage inventory program
  • Work independently without supervision
  • Direct other engineering associates
  • Maintain legal documents including boiler logs and PM logs
  • Work with and direct contractors
  • Make informed departmental and physical plant decisions
  • Assist with property security as requested
  • Keep supervisors informed of challenges
  • Maintain pool and spa cleanliness and chemical balance
  • Maintain chemical balance records
