Job Requirements

  • Must obtain Food Handlers Certification prior to beginning work
  • Must be reliable and responsible
  • Positive attitude and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised in a fast paced kitchen
  • Effective communication skills
  • Willingness to follow directions and ask for clarification
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to perform tasks involving reaching, bending, stooping and lifting
  • Ability to safely lift up to 60 pounds repeatedly
  • Ability to work in hot, humid, and loud environments

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively with managers, kitchen staff, and dining room personnel

Job Duties

  • Assume 100% responsibility for the cleanliness of dishware
  • Load, run and unload the dish machine
  • Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately
  • Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle
  • Clean and sanitize all pots, pans, and equipment parts
  • Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware
  • Keep dishwashing area clean and organized
  • Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen
  • Bag and haul trash to dumpster
  • Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss
  • Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies
  • Clean food preparation and production areas as required
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant
  • Attend all scheduled meetings and bring suggestions for improvement
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management
