Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in food and beverage preparation or management
  • Four years progressive experience in food production or catering
  • Ability to interact positively with supervisors, management, coworkers, and guests
  • Ability to work on time, in proper uniform, and follow company policies
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Must have close and distance vision
  • Ability to work varied shift days and hours as required by 24/7 operation
  • Legal authorization to work in jurisdiction

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in food and beverage preparation, management, nutrition or related field or four years related experience and/or training
  • Four years progressive experience in high volume food production or catering
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations including supervisory aspects and service techniques
  • Familiarity with hospitality industry practices
  • Birchstreet knowledge preferred
  • Ability to produce high volume of work timely and accurately
  • Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities

Job Duties

  • Develop recipes and portion specifications in accordance with consumer tastes and budget constraints
  • Participate in menu planning including purchasing specifications and recipe testing
  • Interview, select, train, supervise, counsel, and discipline employees
  • Cook or supervise cooking of skilled food preparation
  • Schedule and coordinate kitchen staff to meet food preparation goals within budget
  • Maintain professional standards in food quality, sanitation, and safety
  • Manage inventory, invoice coding, and operational reporting
