Job Requirements

  • Food handler’s license and liquor server permits as required by state law
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and holidays
  • Reliable and consistent attendance
  • Ability to perform physical job requirements such as grasping, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, squatting, kneeling, walking on uneven surfaces, and climbing stairs
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
  • Commitment to maintaining safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 2 plus years previous culinary experience preferred
  • Hospitality or hotel work experience preferred
  • Ability to provide exceptional guest service
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Cook, set up and prepare food on the cookline
  • Cook and plate meals for restaurant, banquet, and in-room dining service with attention to consistency, portion sizes, temperature, and presentation
  • Assist with menu preparation and execution, including seasonal specials and banquet menus
  • Assist with food service throughout banquet functions as needed to ensure quality of service and product
  • Clean kitchen and restaurant as needed, including washing dishes in the absence of a dishwasher, sanitize all food-contact areas multiple times throughout the day
  • Assist with ordering of food, receive food and supply shipments
  • Wash dishes as needed in the absence of a dishwasher
  • Ensure that food quality meets expectations including plating and visual appearance
  • Provide a high level of customer service, taking time with guests to ensure expectations are met
  • Interact with front of the house employees about changes and guest requests
  • Listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by coworkers and guests
  • Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity in guest and coworker interactions
  • Communicate effectively with hotel staff to ensure smooth delivery of services
  • Complete a daily activity log with pertinent shift information for coworkers and leadership
  • Assist other departments with work as time permits
  • Coordinate with front desk, maintenance staff, Chef, Beverage Manager, and General Manager on issues requiring attention
  • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts
  • Perform tasks in compliance with federal, state, local food safety, sanitation requirements, and Oxford Collection safety standards and security procedures
  • Report any maintenance repairs promptly
  • Be knowledgeable and responsive to emergency situations
