Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years experience in housekeeping management preferably in the hotel industry
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Familiarity with safety and chemical handling procedures
- Strong leadership skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience managing housekeeping staff in a hotel environment
- Strong knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment and safety protocols
- Ability to plan and organize work schedules and budgets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Supervisory experience with responsibility for hiring, training, and performance management
- Ability to inspect and maintain high standards of cleanliness
- Knowledge of MSDS and safety regulations
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Job Duties
- Establishes standards and procedures for housekeeping and laundry staff including safety, usage of chemicals, cleaning, storage
- Plans work schedules to ensure adequate service and maintain labor budgets
- Monitors chemical systems and laundry procedures for cost control
- Maintains MSDS sheets and educates staff on safety protocols
- Inspects guest rooms daily and assists with cleaning as needed
- Ensures proper storage and security of housekeeping room keys
- Communicates with Front Desk on room inventory status and updates systems
- Addresses guest questions and concerns to ensure satisfaction
- Evaluates physical condition of property including carpets, drapes and furniture
- Submits recommendations for repairs, furnishings, and space allocation
- Purchases supplies and equipment according to budget and guidelines
- Investigates new cleaning methods and equipment
- Manages guest lost and found
- Schedules and inspects deep cleaning operations
