Job Requirements
- Four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience
- Previous experience as general manager or assistant general manager at similar size and type of hotel
- Previous experience as department head at the same or similar facility
- Advanced knowledge of hospitality and business management
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to make independent decisions within company policy
- Physical ability to inspect hotel premises regularly
- Ability to walk through front and back of the hotel
- Ability to climb 20-30 steps weekly
- Must have good vision
- Must be able to work in general office and hotel environment
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience
- Previous experience as General Manager or Assistant General Manager at a similar hotel
- Previous experience as Department Head in similar facility
- Advanced knowledge of hospitality and business management
- Skilled at integrating and communicating complex information
- Ability to study, analyze, and improve operational practices
- Strong decision-making skills with general policy guidance
- Highly developed communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient literacy skills for reports and policy documentation
Job Duties
- Lead the Executive Committee using a participative style
- Develop and manage the annual operating budget
- Set and monitor departmental objectives and action plans
- Conduct monthly forecasting of staff and cost expenditures
- Review and approve the P & L statements and major expense categories
- Develop and maintain high employee morale and loyalty
- Conduct performance appraisals and development plans for management staff
- Hire qualified hotel management personnel
- Oversee cost control measures to protect hotel assets
- Review wage and salary increases ensuring compliance with company policies
- Regularly review future bookings and implement yield management
- Conduct quarterly pricing reviews and implement timely price adjustments
- Regularly inspect all areas of the hotel to ensure cleanliness and maintenance
- Establish and enforce guest service standards
- Develop and monitor preventive maintenance programs
- Oversee the implementation of the annual sales and marketing plan
- Monitor sales productivity and take corrective actions
- Maintain credit policies and supervise collections
- Maximize room revenue through front office management
- Represent the hotel within the local community
- Ensure full implementation of company policies and procedures throughout the hotel
