Job Duties
- blend strategic thinking for long-term success with tactical planning and action
- communicate with and through department heads to ensure success of plans
- meet with each department head to review daily planned activities and troubleshoot problems
- visit each department area and greet employees
- work breakfast bar and interact with guests to solicit comments and obtain sales leads
- ensure breakfast presentation is attractive and meets standards
- tour property including interior, exterior, pool, parking lot, corridors, meeting rooms, and guest rooms
- follow up on action items with department heads and staff
- check reservations, review and analyze room inventory and forecast
- prepare and review daily business reports
- implement revenue maximization strategies
- review and approve audit pack
- prepare and approve deposits
- conduct five personal sales calls per week
- balance accounts receivables and verify billing
- review and sign logs such as front desk and security
- review labor costs against standards
- review guest loyalty activities
- prepare and approve payroll
- review progress on maintenance and special projects
- forecast occupancy and sales for 90-day period and adjust operations
- report new hires to state directory
- drive by billboards and follow up on issues
- attend community meetings and activities
- review financial performance and guest satisfaction reports
- share reports with department heads and staff
- review sales and marketing plans and take action
- review and schedule training needs
- conduct daily, weekly, and monthly meetings with department heads, sales staff, and all employees
- facilitate meetings for hotel improvement, team communication, and employee motivation
