Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years experience in hotel management or leadership roles
  • Proven experience managing P&L and operational budgets
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Familiarity with Marriott brand standards and compliance
  • Experience with revenue management and guest satisfaction strategies
  • Knowledge of employment laws and OSHA regulations
  • Valid work authorization for employment in the USA

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years progressive hotel leadership experience in full-service hotels
  • Lifestyle or boutique experience strongly preferred
  • Prior experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager with multi-department oversight
  • Proven track record of P&L ownership, budget management, and GOP growth
  • Strong understanding of Marriott systems, brand standards, and audit processes preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead leaders, manage complexity, and execute in high-demand, guest-facing environments
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business requires

Job Duties

  • Set and execute the hotel’s strategic plan aligned with ownership objectives, market conditions, and Marriott brand standards
  • Build a strong leadership bench across all departments through coaching, accountability, and succession planning
  • Establish a performance-driven, guest-first culture rooted in transparency, trust, and high standards
  • Lead daily stand-ups, weekly executive meetings, and monthly business reviews with clarity and follow-through
  • Own the hotel’s full P&L, including Rooms, F&B, Banquets, and Ancillary revenue streams
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and capital plans
  • Drive GOP growth, expense discipline, labor optimization, and margin improvement without sacrificing guest experience
  • Partner with ownership on capital projects, ROI justification, and long-term asset value preservation
  • Ensure delivery of a distinctive, locally inspired Tribute Portfolio experience while meeting Marriott operating standards
  • Monitor guest satisfaction scores, online reputation, and brand audits–taking swift corrective action where gaps exist
  • Lead guest recovery for escalated issues and ensure root-cause fixes are implemented
  • Act as a visible ambassador of the hotel to guests, the community, and brand representatives
  • Collaborate with Revenue Management and Sales to optimize pricing, segmentation, channel mix, and demand strategy
  • Drive group, transient, and F&B revenue through market-aware strategy and disciplined execution
  • Ensure the hotel remains competitive on the Riverwalk through differentiated service, programming, and local partnerships
  • Hold department leaders accountable for SOP adherence, service delivery, cleanliness, safety, and compliance
  • Ensure readiness for brand audits, health inspections, fire/life safety reviews, and internal audits
  • Oversee preventive maintenance, life-safety systems, and capital asset condition
  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws, wage-and-hour regulations, OSHA standards, and Marriott policies
  • Partner with HR on hiring, performance management, corrective action, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and labor controls while supporting associate wellbeing and retention
  • Foster open communication and ethical leadership across the hotel
  • Serve as the primary liaison with ownership, asset management, and Marriott brand teams
  • Deliver clear, accurate, and timely reporting on performance, risks, and opportunities
  • Represent the hotel in ownership meetings, brand reviews, and community engagements
