Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field preferred
  • minimum of 5 years experience in hotel management or related role
  • strong leadership and decision-making skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including mornings and weekends
  • proficiency with hotel management software and financial reporting tools
  • valid driver's license for conducting sales and community visits

Job Duties

  • blend strategic thinking for long-term success with tactical planning and action
  • communicate effectively with department heads to ensure plan success
  • act as chief executive officer of the hotel
  • conduct sales calls and engage in community involvement
  • meet with department heads to review planned activities and troubleshoot problems
  • visit each department to observe operations and greet employees
  • ensure breakfast presentation adheres to hotel standards
  • tour property including pool, parking lot, corridors, meeting rooms and guest rooms
  • follow up on action items with staff
  • check reservations and analyze room inventory and forecast
  • prepare and review daily business reports
  • implement revenue maximization strategies
  • review and approve audit packs and deposits
  • conduct personal sales calls
  • balance accounts receivables and verify billing
  • review applicable logs
  • review labor costs compared to standards
  • prepare and approve weekly payroll
  • review maintenance programs and special projects
  • forecast occupancy and sales for 90-day periods
  • attend community and industry meetings
  • review financial performance and guest satisfaction reports
  • prepare and adjust sales and marketing plans
  • schedule and evaluate training
  • conduct daily, weekly, and monthly meetings with staff and department heads
  • facilitate monthly all-staff meetings focused on progress and motivation
  • support safety, security and training sessions
