Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
  • minimum five years of experience in hotel management
  • excellent communication skills
  • proven ability to lead and mentor staff
  • familiarity with financial reporting and budget management
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends
  • strong problem-solving abilities
  • valid driver's license
  • ability to perform property inspections and customer engagement
  • experience with sales calls and marketing activities

Job Duties

  • Blend strategic thinking for long-term success with tactical planning and action
  • communicate with and through department heads to ensure success of plans
  • conduct office hours as scheduled Monday through Saturday
  • meet with each department head to review daily planned activities and troubleshoot problems
  • visit department areas to greet employees and ensure standards
  • engage with guests during breakfast to solicit feedback and sales leads
  • tour property interior and exterior to inspect facilities and follow up on issues
  • check reservations, review room inventory and forecast
  • prepare and review daily business reports
  • implement revenue maximization strategies
  • review and approve audit pack
  • prepare and verify deposits
  • conduct five sales calls Tuesday through Friday
  • balance accounts receivables and follow up on billing
  • review and sign logs
  • monitor labor costs and compare to standards
  • review guest loyalty initiatives weekly
  • prepare and approve payroll
  • oversee preventive maintenance and special projects
  • evaluate housekeeping performance
  • forecast occupancy and sales for 90 days
  • report new hires to State Directory
  • drive by billboards monthly to check conditions
  • participate in community meetings and activities
  • review financial and revenue performance monthly
  • communicate guest satisfaction results and action plans
  • review and implement hotel sales and marketing plan
  • assess training needs and schedule actions
  • lead daily management meetings
  • conduct weekly staff and sales meetings
  • organize weekly revenue meetings
  • facilitate monthly improvement and communication meetings
  • conduct monthly all-staff meetings
  • manage additional meetings such as safety and training sessions
