Job Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of hotel event sales or event planning experience
- Bachelor's degree and/or 3 years of hotel and/or food and beverage experience preferred
- Must have general computer knowledge and proficiency in relevant software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional appearance
- Highly detail oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities
- Leadership qualities to inspire team performance
- Experienced in creative marketing development
- Knowledge of contract negotiation and interpretation
- Comprehensive understanding of all hotel operational departments
- Knowledge of meeting room configurations and sleeping room types
- Ability to increase revenue through upselling and management strategies
- Skilled in meeting space management and price integrity maintenance
- Capability to provide accurate forecast information
- Proficient in account retention, reactivation, and acquisition
- Adherence to prospecting standards and goals
- Effective engagement with meeting planners and vendors
- Timely client follow up
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of hotel event sales or event planning experience
- Completed Event Management trainee program or comparable experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present a confident and professional appearance
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Strong time management and multitasking skills
- Experience in marketing concept development and promotional event planning
- Understanding of contract negotiation and interpretation
- Comprehensive knowledge of hotel operational departments and meeting room setups
Job Duties
- Capture local catering business including weddings, galas, social and corporate events
- Maximize banquet space to meet and exceed sales goals
- Conduct hotel tours, tastings, menu planning, and agenda setting
- Review contracts and facilitate communication with hotel staff and clients before, during, and after events
- Increase overall revenue per attendee through upselling techniques and rooms management strategies
- Manage meeting space configurations to ensure maximum revenue potential
- Follow up timely with internal and external clients and engage with meeting planners and vendors on event setup details
