Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Vocational or technical background preferred
- Minimum of 2 years hotel engineering or maintenance experience
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
- Must meet applicable state and federal certification and licensing requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work day and evening shifts
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing varied physical tasks
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Vocational or technical background preferred
- Extensive experience and training in general maintenance, electrical or refrigeration
- Experience with parts inventory and requisition
- Experience with exterior and interior surface preparation and painting
- At least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
- Proficiency in at least three core technical areas including air conditioning, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing
- Advanced skills in multiple engineering disciplines
- Knowledge of local and national codes
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics
- Experience with safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout
- Ability to train and mentor others
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Valid driver's license
Job Duties
- Respond and attend to guest repair requests
- Communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues with little to no supervision
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment including cleaning and lubrication
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
- Carry equipment such as tools and radio
- Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment
- Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed
- Communicate daily activities and issues across shifts using approved programs
- Read standard blueprints and electrical schematics related to plumbing and HVAC
- Demonstrate above average engineering operations skills and mechanical ability
- Show proficiency in air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building management
- Use hand and power tools safely
- Perform complex repairs on physical property, electrical, plumbing, mechanical equipment, air conditioners, refrigeration, and pool heaters
- Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, electrical equipment, plumbing issues, and other devices
- Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before maintenance work
- Utilize engineering computer programs for preventative maintenance and energy management
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting of hotel mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems
- Train and mentor other engineers
- Perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities including readings and rounds
- Follow company safety and security policies, report hazards and incidents, complete safety training and certifications, and store flammable materials safely
- Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality
- Welcome guests and address their service needs
- Adhere to quality standards
- Develop positive working relationships and support team goals
- Communicate clearly and professionally
- Perform physical tasks including moving, lifting, pushing, pulling, and placing objects up to 50 pounds
- Navigate stairs, ramps, and ladders
- Reach overhead and below knees through bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
- Enter and locate work-related information using computers
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested
