Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Vocational or technical training
  • At least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
  • Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout safety procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Adherence to company safety and security policies

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Vocational or technical background preferred
  • Extensive experience and training in general maintenance and electrical or refrigeration
  • Experience with parts inventory and requisition
  • Knowledge in surface preparation and painting
  • Minimum 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Strong general mechanical ability
  • Proficiency in air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, and energy conservation
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance and energy management
  • Ability to train and mentor other engineers
  • Ability to perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities

Job Duties

  • Respond and attend to guest repair requests
  • Communicate with guests and customers to resolve maintenance issues
  • Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment including cleaning and lubrication
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
  • Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed
  • Safely perform repairs on physical property, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair hotel mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Use Lockout/Tagout system during maintenance work
  • Train and mentor other engineers as necessary
  • Perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities including readings and rounds
  • Follow all company safety and security policies
  • Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards
  • Support team to reach common goals and respond appropriately to concerns
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds with assistance for heavier items
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested
