Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- vocational or technical background
- at least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience
- experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation, and painting
- valid driver’s license
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
- meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements

- two or more years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
- knowledge of general maintenance and painting
- ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- proficiency in the safe use of tools and repair techniques
- experience in training and mentoring others
- basic computer skills
- understanding and adherence to safety protocols
- ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
Job Duties
- Respond to guest repair requests
- communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues
- perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment
- visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
- carry equipment such as tools and radios
- identify and operate all shut-off valves
- maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts
- communicate daily activities and problems across shifts
- display proficiency in air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and building management
- safely use hand and power tools
- repair or replace PVC copper pipe including soldering
- troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, plumbing and electrical equipment
- program TVs and assist with housekeeping and engineering duties
- assist with painting, drywall, wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement
- use Lockout/Tagout system
- operate engineering computer programs
- perform mid-level troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- train and mentor other engineers
- perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities including readings and rounds
- follow company safety and security policies
- report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents or injuries
- complete safety training and certifications
- store flammable materials properly
- maintain clean and professional appearance
- protect company assets
- welcome and acknowledge guests
- anticipate and address guest service needs
- assist guests with disabilities
- adhere to quality standards
- develop positive relationships with coworkers
- support team goals
- communicate professionally
- perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds
- move on stairs, ramps, and ladders
- access work-related information via computers
- perform other reasonable job duties as requested
