Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • some experience in general maintenance and painting
  • valid Driver’s License
  • ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, using stairs and ladders
  • good communication skills
  • basic computer proficiency
  • adherence to safety and company policies
  • ability to work full time
  • no supervisory experience required

Job Qualifications

  • valid Driver’s License
  • some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting
  • experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus
  • ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • strong communication skills

  • knowledge of safety standards and procedures
  • ability to follow company policies and practices

Job Duties

  • Respond and attend to guest repair requests
  • communicate with guests and customers to resolve maintenance issues
  • perform preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication
  • visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
  • carry equipment such as tools and radios
  • identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings
  • maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies
  • communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs
  • display basic knowledge or acquire skills in air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building
  • perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and cleanup of painting or repair areas
  • test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and guestroom items
  • program TVs and perform housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties
  • use Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance
  • perform interior and exterior landscaping repairs and maintain landscaping sprinklers
  • display basic computer skills including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes
  • follow all company safety and security policies and procedures
  • report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
  • complete safety training and certifications
  • properly store flammable materials
  • maintain uniform and personal appearance
  • maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
  • protect company assets
  • welcome and acknowledge guests
  • anticipate and address guests’ service needs
  • assist individuals with disabilities
