Job Requirements

  • Must be able to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 50 pounds frequently and/or 20 pounds constantly
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, stooping and reaching
  • Ability to stand during entire shift
  • Flexible to work variable days including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work ten to twelve hour shifts sometimes required
  • Completion of specialized training or certification in maintenance fields
  • Prior experience in hospitality or maintenance preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Specialized knowledge or certification in plumbing, electrician work, carpentry, equipment mechanics, HVAC, refrigeration or related field
  • Trade school or college coursework in related field preferred
  • Experience in hotel or related field preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Reading and writing skills to document tasks and follow instructions
  • Mathematical skills including basic math and percentages
  • Professional verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned areas such as buildings, hotel rooms, kitchen and laundry equipment, HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, water treatment systems, and swimming pools
  • Perform preventative maintenance regularly to ensure equipment is maintained and operational
  • Adhere to federal, state, and local safety regulations, brand standards and other compliance requirements
  • Report all unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor
  • Follow procedures to ensure security of inventory and assets like tools, supplies, and equipment
  • Replenish supplies and inventory efficiently while minimizing waste
  • Take required readings on equipment and replace or program televisions as needed
