Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • five or more years of related and progressive sales leadership experience in similar organization or property
  • five years as a supervisor or manager in similar setting desired
  • pre-opening hotel experience desired
  • experience managing independent properties and representation groups desired
  • solid knowledge of hotel service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
  • ability to lead and coordinate staff in high volume, time-sensitive environment
  • ability to develop and maintain effective sales processes
  • strong sales techniques with negotiation and closing skills
  • ability to determine customer needs and effectively present sales options
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • commitment to high guest satisfaction
  • positive attitude and professional demeanor

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • bachelor’s degree in hospitality management preferred
  • five or more years of progressive sales leadership experience in similar organization or property
  • experience as supervisor or manager preferred
  • pre-opening hotel experience desired
  • knowledge of hotel service standards and guest relations
  • ability to lead and train staff in high volume, time-sensitive environment
  • strong sales techniques, negotiation, and closing skills
  • effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to create persuasive sales presentations and use discretion with confidential information

Job Duties

  • Provide guidance and direction to ensure overall departmental success
  • manage subordinate sales staff
  • carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work
  • appraise performance and address complaints
  • actively solicit new business opportunities through prospecting and networking
  • research market trends and develop individual and department sales plans
  • participate in community and industry events to promote the property
  • develop strategies for forecasting sales needs and evaluating results
  • plan, manage, and evaluate financial aspects of sales efforts to ensure cost effectiveness
  • support staff with sales trips, off-property functions, and customer entertainment
  • participate in the hiring process and management training
  • prepare annual budgets and achieve budgeted revenues
  • ensure exceptional guest service by collaborating with other departments and handling guest concerns promptly
