Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 to 2 years of experience in event management or related professional area
- 2-year degree from accredited university in relevant field preferred
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk and bend for extended periods
- Flexibility to work shifts including weekends, holidays and evenings
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 to 2 years experience in event management or related professional area
- 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
- At least 1 year experience in event management or related professional area
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Knowledge of event planning and execution
- Customer service oriented
Job Duties
- Preparing all event documentation and coordinating with sales, property departments and customer to ensure high-level service throughout pre-event, event and post-event phases
- Handling events of average complexity
- Ensuring seamless turnover from sales to service back to sales
- Recognizing opportunities to maximize revenue through upselling and offering event enhancements
- Managing event logistics and operations
- Greeting customers during the event and handing off to event operations team
- Ensuring adherence to standards, policies and procedures
- Managing billing accuracy and reviewing bills with clients
- Managing group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups
- Identifying and resolving operational challenges
- Integrating current trends in event management and design
- Acting as liaison between salesperson and customer throughout event process
- Participating in customer site inspections and supporting sales activities
- Soliciting feedback to enhance event planner experience
- Delivering exceptional customer service and encouraging the same from employees
- Coordinating and communicating event details verbally and in writing
- Following up with customer post-event
