Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in hospitality preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to communicate in a second language, preferably Spanish
  • Knowledge of proper sanitation regulations
  • Knowledge of proper chemical handling
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting up to 25-60 lbs, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, climbing ladders, stairs and ramps
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to follow health and safety standards
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and areas after each guest vacates a room including toilets, countertops, bathtubs, showers, and eating surfaces
  • Dusting and polishing furniture, woodwork, light fixtures, and ceiling fans
  • Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, and shampooing carpets as needed
  • Organizing and stocking guest room supplies such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, coffee, tea supplies and stationery
  • Changing linens and towels, replacing soiled items with clean ones
  • Waste removal including emptying wastebaskets and ashtrays, disposing of garbage according to health and safety regulations and recycling rules
  • Maintaining cleanliness of dining utensils by cleaning and polishing plates, glasses, bowls, and silverware
  • Keeping kitchen and storage areas clean including industrial appliances like stoves, grills, freezers, and ovens
  • Assisting with food storage, rotation, and preparation including fresh salads, grilling, garnishing, and seasoning dishes according to customer taste
  • Performing other duties as requested such as cleaning unexpected spills and fulfilling special guest requests
