Job Requirements
- Associate's degree in related field preferred
- One to two years of related experience
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Effective presentation and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications and hotel software
- Strong math skills including basic arithmetic and data interpretation
- Ability to interact and resolve conflicts with guests and team members
- Flexibility to work various shifts including holidays, nights, weekends and overtime
- Must hold Michigan Gaming Control Board Occupational License Level 2
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree in related field preferred
- One to two years related experience or equivalent education and experience
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the public
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and hotel software
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with guests, staff and resolve conflicts diplomatically
- Flexibility to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime
- Michigan Gaming Control Board Occupational License Level 2
Job Duties
- Supervise staff and overall daily management of designated shift
- Support, administer and manage operational goals and monitor achievements of performance and profit objectives
- Conduct daily pre-shift meetings
- Prepare and communicate daily shift reports
- Create effective schedules while maintaining labor costs and meeting staffing objectives
- Assist in budget process and provide recommendations ensuring compliance to departmental budget initiatives
- Promote and demonstrate superior customer service and address customer service standards
- Provide direction for hotel supervisory staff on assigned shift
- Assist with posting charges and settling folios
- Manage complaints, grievances or concerns from team members
- Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services and resolve guests' challenges
- Oversee hotel operations including front desk, housekeeping, bell service, and reservations
- Direct housekeeping supervisors to ensure cleanliness standards
- Maintain orderly condition of offices and guest areas
- Tour facility to evaluate team performance
- Assist in inspection of completed projects
- Maintain master and direct bill accounts
- Manage daily arrivals and departures in reservation system
- Make recommendations regarding hotel policies and services
- Maintain maximized occupancy and revenue
- Make financial recommendations such as room rates and policies
- Order supplies maintaining par levels
- Develop and maintain safety program
- Train team members in OSHA standards
- Maintain confidentiality in department and company matters
- Conduct staff development and training programs
- Manage rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement
- Evaluate team member performance and deliver feedback
- Recommend staffing including interviewing, hiring and scheduling
- Manage work procedures and expedite workflow
- Provide employee performance recommendations including coaching and counseling
