Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree in related field preferred
  • One to two years related experience and/or training
  • Ability to write reports and procedure manuals
  • Ability to present information effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Ability to interact with guests and staff to resolve conflicts
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime
  • Michigan Gaming Control Board Occupational License Level 2
  • Ability to read and verbally communicate in English
  • Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions
  • Ability to deal with standardized problems
  • Must qualify for required licenses and permits
  • Physical ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance
  • Must perform duties in loud environments which may include exposure to secondhand tobacco smoke

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Effective presentation skills for groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to resolve problems diplomatically
  • Flexibility to work all shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Michigan Gaming Control Board Occupational License Level 2
  • Ability to read and communicate verbally in English
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations

Job Duties

  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings
  • Prepare and communicate daily shift reports
  • Assist in creating effective and efficient schedules while maintaining labor costs and meeting staffing objectives
  • Assist in implementing and managing the division's annual budget and objectives
  • Actively promote and demonstrate superior customer service standards
  • Ensure procedures and controls are followed to minimize losses and maximize profits
  • Assist with posting charges and settling folios on assigned shifts
  • Address and manage complaints, grievances, or concerns from team members
  • Resolve guest challenges and answer inquiries regarding hotel policies and services
  • Assist Hotel Manager in overseeing Front Desk, Bell Service, and Reservations
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of front desk, offices, lobby, and other specified areas
  • Inspect projects after completion to ensure satisfactory results
  • Maintain all master and direct bill accounts
  • Manage daily arrivals and departures in the reservation system
  • Manage hotel reservation and inventory system, including the Global Distribution System
  • Make recommendations on hotel policies, room rates, and services
  • Order supplies and maintain par levels
  • Develop and maintain safety programs and train staff in OSHA standards
  • Maintain confidentiality in departmental and company matters
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Manage staff development, training, and rewards and recognition programs
  • Create reports as necessary
  • Evaluate team members and provide performance feedback
  • Perform marketing-related duties and issue comps as needed
