Job Requirements

  • Six months of fast food production or kitchen food production experience
  • ability to read and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers
  • ability to write simple correspondence
  • ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers

Job Duties

  • Prepares all hot food items for patient and non-patient food services following production plans and recipes
  • assists in tray assembly and preparing special diet meals including puree meals and supplements
  • knows basic food preparation techniques including receiving, storing, preparation and holding of food items
  • demonstrates working knowledge of food service sanitation and infection control procedures
  • adheres to HAACP guidelines
  • communicates properly regarding patient, non-patient or department needs to supervisors and team members
  • assists in other areas of the kitchen such as cold prep, bakery, store room, café serving line, dish room or tray line when needed
  • maintains regular and punctual attendance
  • complies with all Orlando Health policies and procedures
