Job Requirements
- Pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings
- Must be 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must have reliable transportation
- Able to walk, stand, sit, shovel, sweep, climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms for extended periods
- Able to work at heights up to 70 feet with special PPE
- Able to move and lift up to 85 pounds
- Ability to adapt to extreme weather conditions
- Able to be flexible with last-minute schedule, location, and shift changes
- Compliance with PPE requirements including safety vests, glasses, long pants, and hard-soled closed-toed shoes
- Strong mental and visual attention span
- Able to drive to various plant locations as needed
- Willingness to work periodic evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime hours
- Able to provide own housing accommodations while traveling
- Project a positive and professional image at all times
Job Qualifications
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to handle several projects simultaneously while maintaining deadlines
- Excellent safety awareness and willingness to comply with company safety standards
- Able to work effectively in a team environment
- Basic electrical knowledge preferred
- Ability to operate heavy equipment like front end loaders or skid steers preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Commercial driver’s license preferred
- Ability to communicate in English concerning job assignments, procedures, and safety standards
- Positive and cooperative attitude
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Job Duties
- Participate in the setup and teardown of the asphalt hot plant as it is relocated from site to site
- Participate in the coordination of the plant relocation as it is transported
- Aid in the production of hot asphalt mix including communication with the plant operator and adjusting controls to regulate material flow
- Maintain production equipment ensuring safe and efficient working conditions
- Perform walk-around and site inspections for all equipment to ensure proper maintenance
- Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment and refer major problems to the hot plant manager
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in coordination with plant operators and supervisors
- Safely handle hot asphalt oil
- Operate heavy equipment such as front end loader or skid steer if necessary
- Use hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, torches, welders, and shovels to assist in plant operation and maintenance
- Perform general labor duties
- Learn and follow safety policies and comply with MSHA, DOT, and DEQ regulations
- Perform work outdoors with exposure to extreme temperatures
