Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 1 year of cooking experience in a relevant setting
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- ability to stand, bend and twist for extended periods
- ability to work in hot environments
- willingness to immerse hands in water diluted with chemical solutions
- comfort working with sharp knives and hot plates
- legal authorization to work in the country
Job Qualifications
- Food preparation skills
- knowledge of HACCP standards
- minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
- experience in high volume and casual dining restaurant environment preferred
- knowledge of soups, saute, broiler, fry and pantry cooking
- ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents
- effective communication skills
Job Duties
- Follows recipes and or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving food items
- tastes products, follows menus, estimates food requirements, checks production and keeps records to plan production and requisition supplies
- cleans and sanitizes work stations and equipment
- practices excellent food safety and sanitation practices and complies with HACCP standards
- operates a variety of kitchen equipment, measures and mixes ingredients, washes, peels, cuts and shreds fruits and vegetables
- stocks, dates, rotates, and checks temperature of product
