Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year of cooking experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of HACCP food safety standards
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work in hot and fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Willingness to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
Job Qualifications
- Minimum one year of closely related cooking experience
- Knowledge of HACCP standards and food safety
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents
- Experience working in high volume and casual dining restaurant environment preferred
- Understanding of food preparation techniques including soups, sauté, broiler, fry and pantry
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Capable of lifting and moving up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand, bend, and twist for job duties
- Comfortable working with sharp utensils and hot equipment
Job Duties
- Follows recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving food items which may include soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other food and beverage products
- Tastes products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records in order to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment as needed
- Cleans and sanitizes work stations and equipment
- Practices excellent food safety and sanitation practices and complies with HACCP standards
- Operates a variety of kitchen equipment
- Measures and mixes ingredients, washes, peels, cuts and shreds fruits and vegetables
- Stocks, dates, rotates, and checks temperature of product
