Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 6 months experience in food service or applicable customer service required
  • 1 year of food service experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Food Handlers Certificate required within 30 days
  • ability to read and perform basic math
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • ability to work cooperatively and discreetly with customers
  • good communication and organizational skills
  • ability to work as part of a team
  • capacity to function efficiently under fast-paced conditions

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Duties

  • Serve patient meals
  • assist with set up and prepare snacks accurately and timely according to procedures
  • return to patient rooms to pick up trays and confirm satisfaction
  • comply with hand hygiene and PPE requirements
  • utilize basic diet therapy training to assist patients with menu selection
  • maintain food safety requirements according to HACCP and department standards
  • keep work area clean and orderly
  • monitor, prepare, and deliver floor stock to designated units
  • check and log refrigerator and freezer temperatures
  • demonstrate excellent customer service skills at point of service and in resolving complaints
  • perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
