Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to use computerized ordering systems
- Customer service experience preferred but not required
- On job training will be provided

- Understanding of dietary needs and meal options
- Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, lifting, and carrying
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Job Duties
- Assist patient with verbal patient meal selections in accordance with current nutrition care order
- Communicate effectively and clearly
- Communicate food preferences from patient to food service department to ensure highest patient satisfaction with meal service
- Communicate frequently with the patient care team for any patient who is problematic, in isolation, or incapable of menu completion to grow insight into known preferences or family requests
- Answer patient calls in a prompt, courteous manner, and process requests in accordance with patient's nutritional care order
- Perform minor food preparation and portioning tasks in accordance with departmental policy
- Demonstrate comprehensive understanding and proficiency of Vision-Meals Your Way computerized ordering system
- Demonstrate ability to utilize EPIC for the purpose of viewing and printing reports and to initiate downtime procedures
- Demonstrate and share basic diet information with patients
- Refer dietitian to address further education or concerns
- Demonstrate knowledge of all diets and alternate meal options
- Transport patient trays
