Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of restaurant or hotel experience preferred
  • previous hotel or luxury experience preferred
  • ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • physical capability to move, lift, carry, push, pull items weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance
  • assist with heavier objects over 50 pounds
  • stand, sit, or walk for extended periods

  • 1-3 years of restaurant or hotel experience preferred
  • high school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field
  • previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred
  • ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays required
  • physical ability to perform duties including moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance, assisting with heavier objects over 50 pounds, and standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Move and arrange tables, chairs, settings and organize seating for groups with special needs
  • ensure place settings are appropriate and each guest has a napkin, clean silverware, and any other item(s) that are part of the standard place setting
  • check menus to ensure they are current, clean, plentiful, and wrinkle-free
  • maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures
  • monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety, and well-being of guests
  • be familiar with all standards of performance excellence, particularly relating to Forbes Five-Star service standards, and adhere to these standards throughout our guests' experience
  • communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the colleagues
  • complete closing duties, including restocking items, cleaning as needed, etc.
  • report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
  • maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
  • speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette
  • be knowledgeable about The Post Oak and its services
  • demonstrate solid interpersonal and communication skills
