Job Description

The hiring establishment is a healthcare facility committed to providing exceptional patient care through comprehensive and compassionate service. This organization specializes in offering a healing environment where patient dignity and unique individual needs are paramount. As an Equal Opportunity Employer, the company fosters an inclusive work culture that values diversity, ensuring all qualified applicants receive fair consideration regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status. The healthcare provider operates with a mission-driven approach, aiming to deliver high-quality, person-centered care by leveraging the diverse talents and perspectives of its staff. The establishment's core values emphasize respect, teamwork, and excellence in healthcare service delivery, cultivating a supportive atmosphere for both patients and employees.

The role being offered is a full-time Host/Hostess position within the food service and nutrition department at this healthcare facility. This position is vital in providing patients with a high-quality dining experience tailored to meet their nutritional requirements and service expectations. Scheduled shifts run from 7am to 3:30pm, including every other weekend, reflecting the organization's commitment to consistent, reliable meal service. In this role, the Host/Hostess serves as the essential link between patients, nursing units, dietitians, and kitchen staff, facilitating effective communication and coordination of nutritional needs. Responsibilities include assisting patients with room service, delivering meal trays, and ensuring that dietary requirements are respected and met.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in customer service and food service settings, showcasing proficiency in handling diverse patient interactions with empathy and professionalism. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are critical, as is the ability to work independently and maintain a positive, friendly demeanor that aligns with the organization’s culture of healing and service excellence. Typing skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows are necessary to carry out administrative tasks accurately. Candidates should be resilient in facing potentially stressful situations typical of a clinical and industrial environment and be motivated to continuously improve their knowledge and skills related to their expertise. The physical demands involve light to medium work, including standing, walking, sitting, pushing, and pulling related to service duties. The pay range for this position is $16.20 to $23.50 per hour, with compensation adjusted based on experience, skills, and education.

Overall, this role offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to patient satisfaction and nutritional care in a respected healthcare setting, supporting the mission of delivering compassionate and personalized care in a healing environment.
