Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Food handlers certificate required within 30 days
  • Ability to work PRN on a rotating schedule including weekends and evenings
  • Must comply with hand hygiene, patient identification, and personal protective equipment requirements
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and food safety standards
  • Must be able to pick up and deliver meals and supplies throughout patient units
  • Ability to commute or relocate to Flower Mound, TX 75028
  • Willingness to work in person at the designated hospital location

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Food handlers certificate required within 30 days
  • Basic knowledge of diet therapy and food safety principles
  • Experience in a food service environment preferred
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Commitment to patient care and safety

Job Duties

  • Serve patient meals, assist with set up and prepare snacks accurately and timely according to procedures
  • Return to the patient room within a reasonable period to pick up dirty trays and confirm patient satisfaction
  • Utilize basic diet therapy training to assist patients in selecting correct menu items
  • Maintain food safety requirements according to HACCP and department standards
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensuring compliance with health department and facility requirements
  • Monitor, prepare, and deliver floor stock to designated units according to FIFO and check for expired or prohibited food items
  • Check and log refrigerator/freezer temperatures on nursing units
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills at point of service and in resolution of complaints or concerns
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
