Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food Handlers Certificate obtained within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to work rotating schedule including weekends and evenings
  • Ability to comply with hand hygiene and personal protective equipment standards
  • Basic diet therapy training or willingness to learn
  • Ability to maintain a clean and orderly work environment
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift and carry food trays and supplies

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Food Handlers Certificate required within 30 days
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and food safety guidelines
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment preferred
  • Basic knowledge of diet therapy is a plus
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team
  • Good communication skills

Job Duties

  • Serve patient meals assist with set up and prepare snacks accurately and timely according to procedures
  • Return to the patient room within a reasonable period to pick up dirty trays and confirm satisfaction with the patient
  • Comply with hand hygiene patient identification and personal protective equipment requirements
  • Utilize basic diet therapy training to assist patients in selecting correct menu items as needed
  • Maintain food safety requirements according to HACCP and department standards in the performance of all duties
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area ensuring compliance with health department and facility requirements
  • Monitor prepare and deliver floor stock to designated units according to FIFO check for expired product and prohibited food items
  • Check and log refrigerator freezer temperatures on the nursing units
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills at point of service and in resolution of complaints concerns questions
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
